Schmidt Completes ROTC Program at Southern Miss

Thomas Schmidt of Ocean Springs, Miss. received a second lieutenant commission into the U.S. Army after completing the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at The University of Southern Mississippi during the spring 2014 semester. ROTC helps train college students to become an officer in the U.S. military.
Schmidt graduated from Southern Miss with a bachelor of arts in history. His first assignment is with the 184th Sustainment Command in Laurel, Miss.
