Melissa Ziegler, instructor of kinesiotherapy in the School of Human Performance and Recreation at The University of Southern Mississippi, has been appointed as a state captain for Mississippi in the South central Region by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA). In this role, Ziegler will be a point of contact for all medically-based fitness centers in the state to keep them informed about the activities and events impacting member facilities.

“The State Captains are the backbone of the association. By helping us communicate in a personal manner with our members state by state, the association can be more responsive to their needs and requests and provide a more personalized service,” said president and CEO of the Medical Fitness Association, Robert D. Boone. “In addition, we are able to reach out to potential members with people who are known within their state. This is a critical role within our organization.”
