The lecture emphasized the need to practice Digital Citizenship as a way to combat bullying. Jeanfreau stressed the importance of practicing online civility. This lecture also highlighted the positive and negative effects of social media.

Jeanfreau stated, “It's very important for children to learn how to use technology in an appropriate and responsible way. Social media is here to stay so children need to learn how to use it in a positive and productive way.”

The event was hosted in partnership with The University of Southern Mississippi and the Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport.
