The Children's Center for Communication and Development at Southern Miss welcomed the Lady Eagles basketball organization on Tuesday, Sept. 30 to celebrate the pair's annual play date.  For the fourth year the Lady Eagles have taken a morning off from practice and studies to reach out to the Center's children who are all under the age of six and have special needs.

“The Lady Eagles and our children are so at ease with one another. There is an outpouring of genuine kindness from the Lady Eagle team and staff,” said Sarah Case-Price, director of The Children's Center, who also said the Center families and staff look forward to this visit every year.

The Lady Eagles will be featuring The Children's Center at one of its upcoming home games -- date to be announced.

The Children's Center, a United Way agency, is a clinical education program in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences.  Since 1974 The Children's Center has provided direct, early intervention services to children from birth through age five with complex disabilities and provided a clinical education for university students.
