Overall winners of the Blueprint Mississippi Social Business Challenge at The University of Southern Mississippi included, from left, Ashley Edwards; Andrew Young; Thomas Kern; Kaitlin Horon; Gabriel Idakwo; and team advisor Dr. Chad Miller. The students in the College of Business were members of "Team Creative Economy - Growing the Film Industry in Mississippi." The competition was held Nov. 17 at the Ogletree Alumni House. Gov. Phil Bryant, the Mississippi Economic Council, and the Mississippi State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) developed the Social Business Challenge and invited teams of students from the state's public universities to compete in devising a creative solution and develop a business plan to address one of Mississippi's biggest issues. "Team Creative Economy" will represent Southern Miss in the state competition at the State Capitol in Jackson next March. (University Communications photo by David Tisdale)
