A total of 7 sport security professionals will be recognized for their leadership in addressing safety and security issues as part of the 2015 National Sports Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition set for July 6-9, in Orlando, Fla. More than 450 security professionals and 55 vendor exhibits are expected for the national conference.

The presentation of awards to these individuals will take place on the second day of the sixth annual conference, to be hosted by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

“The reason for the Industry Leader Under 40 Award is to allow professional leagues, NCAA member institutions, high school athletic programs, and marathon and endurance organizations to honor outstanding young individuals in the field of sports safety and security for their contributions and leadership,” said NCS4 Director Dr. Lou Marciani.

“By honoring these individuals, we hope to inspire young people to strive to reach higher standards for both themselves and their organizations.”

Marciani noted that each league or organization selects the criteria and makes the determination as to which professional will be recognized. MicroPower Technologies is serving as the official sponsor of the Industry Leader Under 40 award.

Those being recognized include the following:

*Kyle McLaughlin, TCS New York City Marathon (Marathon)
*Jerome Pickett, National Basketball Association (NBA)
*Sal DeAngelis, Philadelphia Phillies (MLB)
*Antonio Torres- Roman, Miami Marlins (MLB)
