Mississippi Geospatial Conference Held at Southern Miss Gulf Park Campus

Dr. Greg Carter, Southern Miss professor of geography, presents research during the third annual Mississippi Geospatial Conference held Oct. 22-23 at the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

The third annual Mississippi Geospatial Conference was held October 22 and 23 on The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. With 110 participants, the 2015 meeting marks the largest conference to date.

University of Southern Mississippi faculty members Dr. Greg Carter, professor of geography, and Dr. David Holt, associate professor of geography, presented their research at the conference. Southern Miss College of Science and Technology graduate students Bill Funderburk, Carlton Anderson and Will Jeter served as panelists during the two-day event.

The conference featured presentations from 19 individuals from local business and government to presentations by federal and corporate entities.

The event was organized by Dr. David Holt, associate professor of geography at The University of Southern Mississippi and the Mississippi Association for Spatial Technologies (MAST).
