Whether it's for a college graduate or someone special this holiday season, the Pottery and Art Sale at The University of Southern Mississippi promises distinctive, one-of-a-kind artistry created by students in the University's Department of Art and Design.

Hosted by the USM Artist Guild, the sale will be held Dec. 4 from noon until 6 p.m., and Dec. 5-6 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on the Southern Miss campus in the 3D Arts Building, located at 2905 W 4th Street, between Century Park North and the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office.

Held at the end of the fall and spring semesters each year, the sale generates funds that help procure materials for student projects, pay for student registrations at art conferences and secure visiting artists who bring instructive lectures and demonstrations to Southern Miss.

Allen Chen, assistant professor of ceramics, said items for sale include utilitarian ceramic dishes, ice cream bowls, coffee cups, beer mugs, tea cups, flower vases, decorative bottles and much more.

“The sale offers students an opportunity to see their work engage the public in a meaningful way,” Chen said. “We invite the community to stop by, support our incredibly talented student artists and go home with some amazing artistry this holiday season.”
