Southern Miss Senior Named Outstanding Undergraduate Student Leader

Elyssa Klipsch, a senior at The University of Southern Mississippi, was named the Association of College Unions (ACUI) Region III Outstanding Undergraduate Student Leader during the Region III regional conference held Oct. 2-4 at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.

Klipsch, a native of Mandeville, La., was recognized for her outstanding efforts as the events coordinator for the Southern Miss Activities Council (SMAC) in supporting and planning events like – Multicultural Awareness Week, and A Week of Paranormal SMACtivity (Halloween Week), among others.

A music education major, Klipsch was a member of SMAC for three years, and currently serves as a student coordinator for the Office of Student Activities. She is a founding member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at USM and serves as the chapter's Vice President for Membership.
