Active Shooter Training for Law Enforcement to be held on Hattiesburg Campus in August

Active shooter training for local law enforcement will be conducted on The University of Southern Mississippi's Hattiesburg campus Monday, August 8 through Friday, August 12 and again Tuesday, August 16 through Thursday, August 18.

The August 8-12 session will be for members of the Hattiesburg Police Department and will take place at Roberts Hall on the east side of campus, near M.M. Roberts Stadium and the School of Kinesiology building.  The August 16-18 session will be for members of the University Police Department (UPD) and will be held at the former Pine Haven apartments, located on the west side of campus near The Sorority Village off of Montague Boulevard.

Paint ball rounds will be used during training, and no live rounds will be allowed in the training area.  These locations will be off limits during the training sessions, and signage will be posted notifying the public of the training.
