Evolution of Language International Conference set for March 21-24 in New Orleans

The 11th International Conference on the Evolution of Language (Evolang) will be held March 21-24, 2016 in New Orleans, La. University of Southern Mississippi faculty members will represent the University at this biennial meeting.
The conference's local organizing committee is chaired by Dr. Heidi Lyn, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Southern Miss.
This conference is the major meeting for researchers worldwide in the origins and evolution of language. Evolang conferences are interdisciplinary, with contributions in the academic areas of anthropology, archeology, artificial life, biology, cognitive science, genetics, linguistics, modeling, paleontology, physiology, primatology and psychology.
Past conferences have been held in cities around the world including Vienna, Kyoto, Barcelona and Rome, to name a few. The 2016 Evolang conference is expected to draw approximately 300 delegates, with representatives from various disciplines and geographic areas of the world.
The 2016 local organizing committee for the conference is comprised of the following individuals:

- Mystera Samuelson (Department of Psychology, The University of Southern Mississippi)
- Jennie Christopher (Department of Psychology, The University of Southern Mississippi)
- Bea Chenkin (Department of Psychology, The University of Southern Mississippi)
Registrations for the 2016 conference will be accepted online through March 15; conference registrations will also be conducted on-site.
