The School of Kinesiology at The University of Southern Mississippi will host a Doctoral Visit Day highlighting its Ph.D. programs on Monday, Dec. 12. The event is an opportunity for prospective doctoral students to meet with kinesiology faculty members, current doctoral students, tour research facilities and more.

“Deciding to pursue my doctoral degree was one of the biggest decisions I have made,” said Dr. Scott Piland, professor and director of the School of Kinesiology. “Choosing where to do this work was as equally substantial. This is why we want to open our doors and give prospective students a real sense of what it's like to be a student here.”

The Southern Miss School of Kinesiology offers a Ph.D. in Kinesiology with emphasis areas in biomechanics, exercise physiology and sport pedagogy.

“A doctoral degree provides a person with a broad variety of both professional and personal opportunities,” said Piland. “Committing to the right place impacts these opportunities.”

There is no cost to attend and lunch will be provided. Register for the School of Kinesiology's Doctoral Visit Day at https://goo.gl/uF86lv.
