Southern Miss Faculty Member Named Industry Expert

Melissa Ziegler, instructor of kinesiotherapy in the School of Kinesiology at The University of Southern Mississippi, has been selected as a Medical Fitness Network industry expert.
Medical Fitness Network's (MFN) industry experts are fitness and health care professionals recognized by their peers as experts in their fields of study.

“To be an industry expert you must be passionate about providing a national network that will connect the public to qualified health care professionals and provide educational content found on the Medical Fitness Network's website,” said Ziegler.

Ziegler has started contributing to MFN's resources with her article, “Kinesiotherapist: The Transitional Rehabilitation Specialist.”

“The network includes fitness and health care professionals from many disciplines that have the skills and passion for helping those with health conditions,” said Ziegler. She also noted involvement with the MFN provides increased awareness and recognition of kinesiotherapy by other industry experts and the public.

Other MFN industry experts include, but are not limited to, Dr. Tim Brown, founder of IntelliSkin, Dr. Mark Kelly, CEO of Principle-Centered Health, Inc., and Beth Shaw, founder of YogaFit.

Ziegler also serves as executive director of the American Kinesiotherapy Association, a national nonprofit based in Hattiesburg.
