University of Southern Mississippi student Cameron Cloud has been awarded a Study Abroad Grant worth $1,000 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi — the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Cloud, a Hattiesburg, Miss., native, is one of 26 students nationwide to receive the award.

Cloud is an Honors College student majoring in biological sciences and communication studies at USM. The sophomore, who is also a member of the Luckyday Scholars program, will use the grant to study abroad at Universidad de Cadiz in Spain.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields. Since the program's inception in 2001, the Society has awarded more than $775,000 in Study Abroad Grants.
