The DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi will host an open house on Thursday, Nov. 16 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in honor of the school's 55th anniversary. During the event, the school will also honor Dr. Maureen K. Martin who retired as director in June 2017 after 41 years of service. Her retirement recognition will take place at 5 p.m.

Former students and their parents, community supporters and members of the general public are welcome to attend.

“We look forward to not only celebrating the rich 55-year legacy of the school, but also the incredible career of Dr. Maureen K. Martin who is a beloved member of the community,” said Missy Schraeder, DuBard School interim director. “We encourage all members of the community, especially those with children who have language disorders, to tour the school and to learn about what we offer.”

Open house attendees will enjoy exhibits and demonstrations about the school's enrollment program, outclient services, professional development opportunities, and more.

The DuBard School for Language Disorders is located on the Hattiesburg campus of The University of Southern Mississippi at 100 Kay James Drive. Public parking will be available for open house attendees.
