DuBard School to Recognize Community Members at Speakeasy Event

The DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi will present three awards at the annual Speakeasy event on October 6, 2017. Honorees include: Mississippi Southern District Transportation Commissioner Tom King, Southern Miss Head Baseball Coach Scott Berry, and long-time DuBard School supporter and advisory board member William H. (Bill) Pace.
The awards were developed in 2014 as a way to recognize and thank those who have made a positive impact on the DuBard School and its students. This year, Commissioner King will receive the DuBard School Community Friend award, Coach Berry will receive the DuBard School University Friend award, and Mr. Pace will receive the DuBard School Award of Distinction.
“The DuBard School relies extensively on the generosity of individuals and organizations within the community,” said Missy Schraeder, DuBard School Interim Director. “Commissioner King, Coach Berry, and Mr. Pace have made valuable contributions to our school and continue to be staunch supporters of our efforts to give the gift of language to as many individuals as possible.”
The DuBard School Speakeasy will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 6th at The University of Southern Mississippi Thad Cochran Center Ballroom. In addition to the awards program, the event will include live jazz, dancing, a wine pull, and prohibition-themed food and beverages.
