Miss University of Southern Mississippi Scholarship Pageant set for Oct. 7

The Miss University of Southern Mississippi Scholarship Pageant will feature nine contestants vying for its crown Saturday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on its Hattiesburg campus. The winner advances to the Miss Mississippi Pageant in Vicksburg next year.

Hannah Badon, Miss Mississippi 2015, and Jeffrey George, a Hattiesburg City Councilman and USM alumnus, will serve as Mistress and Master of Ceremonies. Entertainment will be provided by Badon, Kaelyn Wolfe and Spirit of Southern.

Contestants for the pageant include:

*Brooke Bullock of Petal, Miss. (major: broadcast journalism)

*Macken'z Smith of Philadelphia, Miss. (major: audiology)

*Felicity Slater of Lucedale, Miss. (major: biochemistry)

*LaRhonda Mack of Bolton, Miss. (major: pre-nursing)

*Aaliyah Bass of Jackson, Miss. (major: broadcast journalism)

*Jessica Fields of Foxworth, Miss. (major: broadcast journalism)

*Charli Cubbage of Lucedale, Miss. (major: communication studies and pre-med)

*Macy Mitchell of Petal, Miss. (major: criminal justice)

*Taylor Robbins of Bay Minette, Ala. (major: biological sciences)
