Online Service Ranks USM Highly for Affordability, Flexibility

In its latest rankings of the Best Four-Year Colleges in Mississippi, online resource guide Schools.com has placed The University of Southern Mississippi at No. 2 among the state's eight public institutions.
To identify the best four-year colleges in the United States, the site gathered data from the U.S. Department of Education and analyzed it through a rigorous 13-point system. Schools.com ranked more than 1,600 schools across the country based on affordability, flexibility, and other quantitative factors.
USM was rated highly for the vast number of degree programs offered. Schools.com noted that the University ranks first for both the total number of programs available as well as the number offered via distance education.
