USM to Host Employer Internship Management Workshop

Employers looking for advice on starting an internship program or hoping to improve upon an existing one will have an opportunity to gain insight into both by attending a Total Internship Management Workshop set for Aug. 22 at The University of Southern Mississippi's Hattiesburg campus.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Trent Lott National Center for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. The event is being sponsored by USM, the Area Development Partnership, the Mississippi Society of Human Resource Management and the Center for Pathway Experiences at USM.

USM Registered Piano Technician Participates in International Institute

Lonnie Young, Registered Piano Technician in The University of Southern Mississippi's School of Music, was among more than 670 attendees, including piano service specialists, manufacturers and suppliers from around the world who attended the 61st annual Piano Technicians Guild Convention and Technical Institute in Lancaster, Pa.

USM's College of Business and Economic Development has joined with the Small Business Administration and the Area Development Partnership to host a Small Business Roundtable from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. today, August 6 at Scianna Hall on USM's Hattiesburg campus. The roundtable is designed to help the Small Business Administration in identifying challenges that small businesses face with federal regulations and statutes.
