As the 2018 Fall semester begins at The University of Southern Mississippi, students will notice a new, mobile dining option on campus. A new food truck, The GrubSlinger, will offer a wide variety of menus items.

Each day, students can enjoy breakfast with items such as breakfast sandwiches burritos and specialty toasts as well as rotating menu of exciting lunch options. The GrubSlinger is set to launch on Thursday, Aug. 30 in Shoemaker Square (weather permitting).

The idea of a food truck started last spring when representatives of Eagle Dining/Aramark looked for ways to serve areas of campus with a dining location not in close proximity. This new change comes with great excitement for the Southern Miss community.

“After conducting surveys and focus groups on campus we felt that a food truck would be the perfect concept to reach students throughout campus. We are excited about all the new offerings this will bring to campus”, says John Meyer, Resident District Manager of Eagle Dining/Aramark.

Menu items for lunch will be themed and include:

Mondays – Hot Sandwiches & Paninis

Tuesdays- Specialty Tacos

Wednesday –Specialty hotdogs

Thursday – Specialty Burgers

Fridays – Specialty Fries

How can students find the food truck? Anyone can follow Eagle Dining on Twitter (@EagleDiningUSM) for daily updates on where the truck will be parked. The food truck will accept cash, credit card and students with meal plans can utilize their bonus bucks and dining dollars for all purchases.
