Fromkin Retires After 10 Years with USM Childrens Center

Ask Liz Fromkin how she feels about her time at The Children's Center for Communication and Development, and she will talk your ear off about her immense admiration for her coworkers and the work they do every day. She will tell you how for 10 years she has watched in awe from the sidelines as The Children's Center clinicians perform tiny miracles in the lives of infants and children with complex disabilities.

She will talk to you, perhaps with a tear in her eyes, about the children and families she has had the pleasure to watch grow over the years. But what she won't tell you is how essential SHE has been to The Children's Center's success for the past decade of its existence.

Fromkin retires from The Children's Center for Communication and Development at The University of Southern Mississippi later this month.

“It's hard to sum up what Liz means to The Children's Center,” said Sarah Case-Price, director of The Children's Center for Communication and Development at USM. “Yes, she has excelled in every area of her role as office/financial manager – a position that is vital to the success of any non-profit organization. Yes, her attention to detail and level of commitment to every task is unmatched.

“But her contribution to the center goes far beyond that. Her work has played an essential role in keeping this place going, but her positive energy, big smile, and even bigger heart has played an essential role in keeping us going. She will surely be missed.”

Prior to her time at the center, Fromkin was employed by The Center for Gifted Studies at USM.
