Dr. H. Quincy Brown

Dr. H. Quincy Brown, an assistant professor in The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Department of Human Capital Development, recently received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the University of West Florida College of Education and Professional Studies, where he earned his doctorate. The Moss Point, Miss. native joined the Southern Miss faculty in 2014.

Dr. Brown said he's “truly honored” by the recognition, which he said gives him a “warm feeling of gratitude for the amazing people with whom I've had the opportunity to work and study with.”

“I received this award because I've had some wonderful mentors at both UWF and USM,” Dr. Brown said. “They have guided me along in my career, and I am grateful for their fellowship.”

Dr. Brown holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree from Webster University. Before coming to USM, he served as an instructor and program manager at the University of West Florida; held instructor positions at Southern Illinois University; and served as director of integrated technology at a pre-k-8 school. His research agenda is focused on research integrity, specifically in the social sciences.
