Nutrition Education Workshop Planned in Flowood for People with Disabilities and Their Families

The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies is hosting a free nutrition education workshop for people with disabilities and their families in the Jackson area on Wednesday, March 21. The Nutrition is for Everyone workshop will be held at 1 p.m. in the conference room of the G. Chastaine Flynt Memorial Library at 103 Winners Circle in Flowood, Miss.

The education session will focus on eating more fruits and vegetables and cooking more meals at home. LaShaundrea Crook, MS, RD, LD, will lead the workshop. Information will also be shared on shopping on a budget and including activity as a part of participants' daily lives.

This nutrition training is provided by Nutrition is for Everyone Mississippi, a year-long regional project funded by the Walmart Foundation through the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD).
