Jonathan Brent, a University of Southern Mississippi senior accounting student and honors scholar, has accepted a 10-week internship with KPMG in Dallas, Texas, beginning in January.

“I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to get this kind of experience. I can't wait to learn and grow in a new city to build off of the great foundation Southern Miss has built for me. This would not be possible without the help of my professors, peers, family, and so many others. January cannot get here soon enough,” said Brent.

Brent's internship follows on the heels of another senior accounting student, Paige Dillistone, who was recently accepted into The Global Internship Program through her internship with KPMG. During this internship, she will be completing a 4-week rotation in Sydney, Australia.

“At Southern Miss, our accounting faculty is serious about the development of our students, and our program. This accomplishment is further evidence of the excellence in both. I am happy for Jonathan, this is a great opportunity for him”, said Marvin Bouillon, Director of the School of Accountancy.

Brent plans to go to graduate school for his MPA, sit for the CPA Exam, and hopefully stay with KPMG full-time in the Dallas office.
