Southern Miss Alumni Association Extends Partnership with Hattiesburg Country Club

The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association has extended its partnership with Hattiesburg Country Club. Hattiesburg Country Club is the official country club of the Southern Miss Alumni Association and host of the Association's Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament.
The 20th Annual Alumni Homecoming Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Pierce Legacy Scholars program, which provides one-time $1,000 scholarships to incoming Southern Miss freshmen who are children or grandchildren of Southern Miss alumni.
Hattiesburg Country Club is Hattiesburg's only privately owned full-service club that offers premiere golf, tennis and swimming facilities. Amenities include a premiere golf course facility, 18-hole golf course, eight tennis courts, a 24/7 fitness room, Olympic-sized swimming pool and clubhouse facilities.

With a recent transition in leadership, significant investments have been made in the club's facilities to complement one of the state's premier 18-hole golf courses” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. “We look forward to continuing to host the annual Southern Miss Alumni Association Homecoming Golf Tournament at Hattiesburg Country Club and are grateful to Carter Callaway and Paul Maholm for their continued support of the University and our Association.”
“One of our top priorities in taking over Hattiesburg Country Club was continuing to build our relationship with Southern Miss, and this partnership is a strong step toward achieving that goal,” said Carter Callaway, owner and general manager. “In addition, we have made significant upgrades to the club's facilities, which we are eager for Southern Miss alumni to see.
