Southern Miss Chamber Singers Recitals Set for Oct. 7 & 8

Choral Activities at The University of Southern Mississippi will present the first choral chamber concerts of the 2018-19 season on Oct. 7 and 8. Both events are free and are open to the public.

The first concert, Oct. 7, will be at 7:30 p.m. at First Trinity Presbyterian Church, 500 North 5^th Avenue in Laurel, Miss.

“We are looking forward to presenting a wide variety of music from Poulenc to Whitacre,” said graduate student Thomas Trautman. “We are also performing Renaissance motets and even a South African celebratory anthem.”

The second concert, Oct. 8, will be 8:00 p.m. at Bay Street Presbyterian Church, 204 Short Bay Street in Hattiesburg, Miss.

“In this performance, we will present works by Poulenc, Whitacre, Ravel, and Byrd,” said graduate student Alex Belohlavek.
