USM's Dance Program will present a fall concert series Nov. 1-3.

The University of Southern Mississippi's Dance Program presents the Fall Dance Concert on Thursday-Saturday, November 1-3, at 7 p.m. in the Theatre and Dance building, studio 115 on the Hattiesburg campus.

The Repertory Dance Company had just eight short weeks to rehearse, plan, and produce new dance works for the fall dance concert. They present an evening of exciting dancing and choreography by dance faculty and students.

“In my dance The Greatest Distance, ten dancers move between being featured as individuals and being a seamless part of a larger whole,” said dance faculty member Candice Salyers. “All of the students in this concert demonstrate their talent as dancers as well as their professional work ethic as growing artists.”

Gabriela Salazar, a dance major who will be performing a work by Salyers, noted that the process has been one of self-discovery and connection.

“Being surrounded by so much support and love has allowed me to fully invest in myself as a performer and artist,” Salazar said.

Dance major Kaylin Wilson, continued, “I have been a member of USM Dance Repertory Dance Company for eight semesters now, and I feel like every year gets better. Our pieces, performers, and choreographers are always just as diverse as our audience, and it makes for an all-around fulfilling experience.”

Tickets are $15 general admission; $10 faculty, staff, seniors, military; $6 students and are available at the door.
