USM Nearing Completion of Major Renovation to Joseph Greene Hall
An extensive renovation of venerable Joseph Greene Hall on The University of Southern Mississippi's Hattiesburg campus is nearing completion as the facility transitions from housing one major academic unit to another.
The estimated $13-million project is scheduled for substantial completion in April. For almost 50 years the building housed USM's business program, but all units associated with that program moved to newly constructed Scianna Hall in 2015.

USM Faculty Member Selected for Conference of Southern Graduate Schools Outstanding Mentor Award
For a third time in four years, a University of Southern Mississippi faculty member has won the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools Outstanding Mentor Award. The award acknowledges and honors a full-time, tenured faculty member from its 106 CSGS-member institutions who has successfully mentored graduate students at the master's or doctoral level in the Southern region.
This year's recipient is Dr. Sarah Morgan, associate director and professor of USM's School of Polymer Science and Engineering.

The 14th annual Richard McCarthy Lecture Series at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM), continues Tuesday, Feb. 12 when associate professor of history Dr. Allison Abra presents “Those Very Gallant Women: Gender and Espionage in World War II Europe." Presented by USM's Dale Center for the Study of War and Society, this program will be held at 6 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building, room 101, on the Hattiesburg campus.
