The University of Southern Mississippi’s College of Business and Economic Development hosted the Fall 2019 Inspired Leaders Series on Nov. 14, welcoming Cindy Gaddis as guest speaker.
Gaddis joined Shell Oil Company in 1985 and recently retired after a distinguished career of over 34 years. Most recently she held the position of Vice President of Finance and Global Downstream Controller of Shell in Houston, Texas.
The Inspired Leaders Series provides industry leaders the opportunity to present their insight to the Southern Miss community. The Inspired Leaders Series occurs each semester and is open to the public.
"Having Cindy Gaddis, a 1984 Honors Alumna, return to campus for the Inspired Leaders Series is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with a graduate who has had a distinguished career and is willing to give back to her alma mater," said Dr. Bret Becton, dean of the USM College of Business and Economic Development. "We have been looking forward to hearing what inspires Cindy in her life and career."
Gaddis is a proven global finance executive with extensive experience across the integrated oil, gas, and petrochemical industry. She is passionate about developing staff and building a diverse and inclusive work environment.
As a multicultural leader, she has managed staff directly or indirectly in Europe (including the Middle East), Asia, and North and South America. In addition to being V.P., she held the role of Country Finance Functional Lead for the United States where she was responsible for overseeing the development of the finance skill pool in the country.
