International Sound Engineer Jos Diogo Neves to Present Workshop on Hattiesburg Campus March 27

Award winning international sound engineer José Diogo Neves will present “International Perspectives on Sound Engineering: A Conversation with José Diogo Neves” Wednesday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Intermezzo at the Woods Gallery on the Hattiesburg campus of The University of Southern Mississippi (USM). During this free presentation that is open to the public, Neves will share his music and recording experiences, and discuss cultural and jazz recording overseas and best practices for recording and mixing music.

Neves' presentation is part of a series of workshops he will present to USM Media and Entertainment Arts students and Music students March 25 – 29. Neves, an Estonian-based sound engineer, is a native of Portugal, and has an undergraduate degree (with honors) in music production and technologies from Escola Superior de Música e das Artés do Espectáculo (Portugal), and a Master of Arts in Composition and Recording Arts from Eesti Muusika - Ja Teatriakadeemia (Estonia).

As a sound engineer, Neves has received numerous international awards and accolades and is currently endorsed by Universal Audio, Vanguard Audio Labs, and msonic Baltic & Retrosonic Pro Audio. Currently a faculty member at the University of Tartu, Viljandi Culture Academy, Neves also holds a diploma in classical guitar from the Conservatório de Música de Avila Real (Portugal).
