The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Music proudly presents Connoisseur Series with Presidio Brass on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. This free concert is presented in part by the generous support of Partners for the Arts.

Earlier in the day, the Presidio Brass will present a master class at 1:15 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium for students about the business side of music performance.

Presidio Brass is comprised of Miles McAllister (trumpet), Steve O'Connor (trumpet), Geoff Durbin (euphonium/trombone), Josh Bledsoe (Trombone/Vocals), and Mike Frasier (Tuba/Piano). By combining a brass quintet, piano and percussion instruments with original arrangements, the group entertains around the world with exciting, jazzy renditions of classic tunes.

“The Presidio Brass needs to be heard to be believed,” stated Principal Horn of the San Diego Symphony John Lorge, in an interview. “Each one of the members is a virtuoso on his instrument…music flows out of them like a stream.”

Since forming in 2006, Presidio Brass has rocketed to success as the face of a bold new generation in brass entertainment. The group has performed in over 44 states, providing a good dose of wit and humor in each show. The Presidio Brass has released multiple recordings such as Stolen Moments, Sounds of the Cinema, and their 2013 release of Rhapsody in Brass.
