The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Music Connoisseur Series presents the Wind Sync Quintet, known professionally as WindSync, on April 3 at 6 p.m. in Marsh Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. This free recital is presented in part by the generous support of Partners for the Arts.

WindSync connects with their audience by performing wind quintet and orchestral repertoire from memory and with a high level of musicality. The quintet's concerts have been described as “intimate, joyful, and thoughtfully programmed with people and places in mind.”

Made up of five outstanding North American musicians, the Wind Sync Quintet is Garrett Hudson (flute), Emily Tsai (oboe), Julian Hernandez (clarinet), Kara LaMoure (bassoon), and Anni Hochhalter (horn).

“[They are] staunchly dedicated to pushing the boundaries of wind quintet performance with youthful, pop-rock sensibility,” stated Winnipeg Free Press in a review.

Lexington Herald-Leader has called the WindSync's concerts as a “game-changing performance.”

WindSync has performed at the Met Museum, Schubert Club, and at Carnegie Hall. In addition, WindSync takes special interest in putting on educational concerts for youths, reaching over 10,000 students per year.
