Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the website for the Southern Miss College of Nursing and Health Professions. Our college offers many educational opportunities for students interested in careers in nursing and health care. The College of Nursing and Health Professions is comprised of four schools that include the School of Leadership and Advanced Nursing Practice, the School of Professional Nursing Practice, the School of Speech and Hearing Sciences, and the School of Health Professions. Within the college students will find programs in nursing, audiology, speech pathology, public health, athletic training, recreational therapy, and kinesiotherapy.

Currently nurses and other health care professionals have tremendous opportunity and responsibility to play key roles and improving health care. Southern Miss programs prepare health care professionals at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels who are equipped to transform health care and improve the health and well-being of individual patients, families, communities, and populations.

Jobs in health care are projected to be among the top occupations for growth during the next decade making this a wonderful time to either choose a career in health care or consider advancing your career. On behalf of the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the College of Nursing and Health Professions, I invite you to partner with Southern Miss as you envision your future.
