We offer multiple graduate-level classes that can support students in a wide variety of content-area STEM disciplines, but also educational practitioners and researchers at meeting times that won’t interfere with your evening plans.

The Center for STEM Education is program that provides a supportive educational atmosphere that helps graduate students from all disciplinary backgrounds grapple with big interdisciplinary questions in education, STEM, and society, while also putting big ideas into action.

SME 650 (Informal STEM Education) –Summer 2023

  • Time: Arranged

  • Description: Informal learning environments such as museums, makerspaces, aquariums, zoos, national and state parks all provide unique spaces for learning for all ages.  The course will explore ways to design, capture, and investigate meaningful STEM learning opportunities outside the classroom.

  • Description: This course takes a deep dive into the underlying structural inequities that restrict access to STEM for all in the U.S. By mapping the social, cultural, and political contexts surrounding STEM education, we will uncover the multiple factors that shape the STEM field as we know it today.
