Office of Multicultural Programs and Services

The Office of Multicultural Programs and Services promotes the holistic development of multicultural students through leadership development, educational programming and collaboration with University departments. The office strives to increase recruitment and retention of multicultural students by creating a strong sense of campus community and assisting students in becoming successful graduates.

The office offers specific leadership development training, networking opportunities and academic support for minority student leaders through annual workshops, programs and initiatives. In addition, the office seeks out future leaders not yet involved in an organization to participate in leadership services.

The office annually hosts events that support its mission. These events include, but are not limited to:

  • ALLIES Training
  • Celebration of Black History Month
  • Celebration of Scholastic Excellence
  • Freshman Connections Development Series

The office also serves as adviser to the following minority student groups:

  • Future Black Law Students Association (FBLSA) - Provides information, mentorship, networking opportunities and pre-law advice to future law students pursuing careers in the judicial system.
  • Men of Excellence (MOX) - Enhances personal growth by encouraging and motivating men to establish and use leadership skills that will enhance them, as well as those they encounter.
  • National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) - The mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
