The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation announced today that its tornado relief and campus beautification campaigns were entering a quiet phase as the nation focuses its attention on tornado victims in Oklahoma. During this time the Foundation will refrain from publicly soliciting donors for the campaigns.
“Today, we continue the restoration of our Hattiesburg campus,” said University President Rodney Bennett, “but our hearts and minds are with the tornado victims in Oklahoma.”
Each year, University of Southern Mississippi students receive scholarships through funds raised by student affairs during the Southern Miss Comcast Golf Classic. Due to Comcast’s support of Southern Miss and the Golf Classic as title sponsor, students are able to receive scholarships and professional development stipends for conferences.
