Business Services is proud to partner with Convera to offer international students a way to make account payments via wire transfer. This program offers a simple electronic payment mechanism which is secure, fast and available in the student's local currency.
Convera is the new brand name that was previously known as Western Union Business Solutions, which is part of an exciting company acquisition that started in August 2021. Through our partnership, we offer the GlobalPay for Students online payments platform which will now be known as Convera. We want to reassure students that the Convera platform has all the same features and benefits as before but will have a different look in terms of color and cosmetic changes only. There will be no impact to the service provided to you.

How much time do I have between receiving my exchange rate quote and visiting my local bank?
Quoted exchange rates are valid for 72 hours from the time you submit your request. You will need to take your payment instructions sheet to your bank in order for them to perform the funds transfer to USM.
What is the maximum amount I am allowed to send?
USM permits you to transfer the total current balance of your student account, which includes tuition, housing, meal plan and any other miscellaneous charges. Check your SOAR account for more information regarding your current balance. Payments received in excess of amount billed may be placed as deposit for an upcoming semester or returned to sender.
