Located on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi, the McCain Archives and Collections are home to many different documents on southern history and heritage.
The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is home to over 2,150 collections, many of which focus on Mississippi residents during the Civil War and other American wars.
The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum (MAFM), located at Camp Shelby has over 17,000 artifacts, 4,500 volumes of military history, and 2,000 historical documents. In addition to their physical holdings, the Museum is in the process of adding some of their unique collections to the Mississippi Digital Library project.

The Anne S. K. Brown Military Collection’s artwork vividly documents all aspects of military and naval history, with emphasis on the history and illustration of world military and naval uniforms from the 17th century to the present.
The David Library of the American Revolution is a specialized research library dedicated to the study of American history circa 1750 to 1800, especially the War for Independence.
The National Archives are home to the nation’s largest collection of Veterans’ service records as well as other military records covering all wars with American involvement.

The mission of the United States Marine Corps Division is the preserve and collect oral histories and interviews from those who have served in the United States Marine Corp.
The Vietnam Center houses multiple collections on the Vietnam era of American history, regarding all aspects of the war experience.
The IWM’s collections cover all aspects of twentieth and twenty-first century conflict involving Britain, the Commonwealth and other former empire countries. The collections include a wide range of material, from film and oral history to works of art, large objects, and personal letters and diaries.
The National Archives of Britain is home to millions of documents, files and images that cover one thousand years of British History. The archives are home to all British Military Service Records and extensive collections on Britain’s colonial wars, World Wars I and II, and modern wars.
