Fraternity and Sorority Life Scholarship

Page Content

Our community consistently earn higher GPAs than their unaffiliated counterparts. Involvement in Fraternity and Sorority Life provides students with a support system to help them reach their academic goals. Each organization holds its members accountable to a high academic standard and offers resources when classes get challenging.  In spring 2024, the GPA of unaffiliated undergraduate students was a 3.04 and the GPA for the fraternity and sorority community was a 3.29!

Order of Omega

Order of Omega

Order of Omega has over 500 chapters in North America that recognize students for their scholarship, leadership, character, and service to Greek-lettered, campus, and local communities. We strive to recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar feats. The Order recognizes sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership and involvement. To qualify for an invitation to apply, students must have spent at least one year at the institution, have a GPA higher than the all-Greek average from the previous semester, and be in good standing with their fraternal organization. Order of Omega and the University of Southern Mississippi takes new applicants each fall.

Fraternity and Sorority Life Scholarships

Many Fraternity and Sorority Life chapters offer annual scholarship opportunities for their members. These scholarships are awarded to affiliated students who have met specific criteria. To apply for chapter scholarships, students should annually complete the Golden Opportunities (GO) Scholarship and Competitive Programs Application System.
