Fraternity & Sorority Life Scholarships are available for members of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community. To apply, members must use the USM Undergraduate Scholarships GO SYSTEM.
General & Council-Specific Scholarships
The purpose of this fund is to provide awards to one man selected as the M.C. Hamilton,
Jr. Outstanding Greek Man of the Year and one woman selected as the Mary Margaret
Andrews Hamilton Outstanding Greek Woman of the Year. Each Fraternity/Sorority organization
shall submit nominations for these awards to the Vice President for Student Affairs,
and an unbiased committee appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs will
rate the applications.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student with a 3.0 GPA or higher who is a first-year member of the College Panhellenic Council (CPC), including all members of dues-paying CPC affiliated organizations.
The purpose of this fund is to give an award to the Outstanding Panhellenic Woman of the Year and to an outstanding senior in Political Science, with half of the allocation going to each. This opportunity is the portion designated for the Outstanding Panhellenic Woman of the Year.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to an undergraduate student in any major who is active in the Inter-Fraternity Council or a member of a fraternity in the Inter-Fraternity Council. The recipient's name will be announced each year on Founders' Day.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student in any major in Kinesiology. Preference will be given to a student who is a member of an NPHC organization or the African-American Student Organization with financial need.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student with financial need with a minimum 3.0 GPA in any major in the College of Business and Economic Development. Preference will be given to a student from Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, MS, or Gentry High School in Indianola, MS, who is a member of a National Pan-Hellenic Council sorority.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a junior or senior majoring in Information Technology. Preference will be given to a member of an NPHC organization or the African American Student Organization.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student with financial need who has a minimum 3.0 GPA who is a member of a National Pan-Hellenic Council organization or the African-American Student Organization. First preference will be given to a Pike County resident. Second preference will be given to a Leake County resident.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student majoring in Chemistry who is a member of a sorority in the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Preference will be given to a member of Zeta Phi Beta.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a junior or senior with financial need majoring in Political Science with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Preference will be given to a student who is a member of a National Pan-Hellenic Council organization or the African American Student Organization.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student who is an officer, cabinet member, or senator of the Student Government Association who is a member of an NPHC fraternity or sorority or a member of the Afro-American Student Organization. If no officer, cabinet member, or senator of the Student Government Association is a member of an NPHC fraternity or sorority or a member of the Afro-American Student Organization, the scholarship may be awarded to any officer, cabinet member, or senator of the Student Government Association.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student with financial need from Forrest County, Mississippi, with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has completed a minimum of 100 credit hours. Preference will be given to a student who is a member of a National Pan-Hellenic Council organization or the Afro-American Student Organization.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a freshman from either the Mississippi Gulf Coast or the Jackson Public School District with any major in the College of Business and Economic Development with a minimum 3.5 GPA. First preference will be given to a student who is a member of the African American Student Organization or the National Pan-Hellenic Council organization. Second preference will be given to a student athlete. Consideration will be given to community service, leadership, and extracurricular activities.
Chapter-Specific Scholarships
The purpose of this fund is to provide support for the Village at The University of Southern Mississippi. A portion of the spending allocation of the endowment may be transferred to the Village Bond Program Development Fund #1697 on an annual basis to assist with bond payments for the Department of Housing and Residence Life, with preference to housing for the Iota Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. If at any time Alpha Kappa Alpha is no longer required to make this payment or if the spending allocation on an annual basis exceeds the annual amount required for Alpha Kappa Alpha's portion of the bond payment, the Shirley Green Mays Alpha Kappa Alpha Endowment will be used to award scholarships to students who are members of the Iota Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to an undergraduate student who is a member of the Mu Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. with a minimum 2.8 GPA. Consideration will be given based on the fraternity's mission: leadership, brotherhood, academic excellence, and community service.
The purpose of this fund is to provide support for the Village at The University of Southern Mississippi. If at any time Chi Omega is no longer required to make this payment,t or if the spending allocation on an annual basis exceeds the annual amount required for Chi Omega's portion of the bond payment, the Chi Omega Endowment will be used to award scholarships to students who are members of the Epsilon Delta Chapter of Chi Omega.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student who is a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Preference shall be given to a student who is participating in the performing arts.
The purpose of this fund is to support the Village at The University of Southern Mississippi and to provide scholarships for students who are members of the Phi Epsilon Chapter of Delta Delta Delta. The spending allocation may be used to assist with bond payments for the Department of Housing and Residence Life, with preference to housing for the Phi Epsilon Chapter of Delta Delta Delta. If at any time Delta Delta Delta is no longer required to make this payment or if the spending allocation on an annual basis exceeds the annual amount required for Delta Delta Delta's portion of the bond payment, the Delta Delta Delta Endowment will be used to provide scholarships for members of the Phi Epsilon Chapter of Delta Delta Delta.
The purpose of this fund is to provide enhancements and program development for the Zeta Chi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships to students with a minimum 2.65 GPA and leadership activities, with preference to incoming members of the Zeta Chi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships with preference given to the Big Brother/Little Brother combination of the Zeta Chi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta that demonstrates leadership in recruitment activities, committee work, on and off campus activities, and that possesses a combined average GPA of 2.55 or better from the Spring semester.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships, with preference given to the active big brother and new member little brother of the Zeta Chi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta who together have the highest combined GPA from the Fall semester.
The Kappa Delta Endowment will fund scholarships for members of Kappa Delta at The University of Southern Mississippi.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships to students enrolled at The University of Southern Mississippi who are initiates of the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, with preference to chapter officers who demonstrate leadership qualities and scholastic achievement.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student who is a member of the Epsilon Nu Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to a student who is an active member of the Epsilon Nu Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student member in good standing of the Delta Mu Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. If there is no active chapter, the scholarship may be awarded to a Pi Kappa Alpha legacy.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships to students who are members of the Theta Alpha Chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity who have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a strong work ethic, selflessness, and love for family and friends.
The purpose of this fund is to recognize the outstanding student leaders and scholars of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at The University of Southern Mississippi—young men who exemplify the qualities of scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and athleticism. The award is to be decided on by the Alumni Advisory Board of Directors for the Mississippi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student who is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Consideration will be given based on the true virtues of an SAE "True Gentleman": temperance, charity, kindness, and humility.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to students enrolled at The University of Southern Mississippi, with preference to members of Sigma Chi Fraternity who display leadership qualities.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships to students who are members or pledges of the Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at The University of Southern Mississippi. This scholarship may also be awarded to children of members of the Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. If there are no members or children of members of the Theta Delta Chapter, this scholarship may be awarded to students who are children of members of any chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships to students who are members or pledges of the Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. This scholarship may also be awarded to children of members of the Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. If there are no members or children of members of the Theta Delta Chapter, this scholarship may be awarded to students who are children of members of any chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to award scholarships to active members of the Theta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. The scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership qualities, philanthropic work, and overall commitment to the fraternity.
The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon with more than 60 credit hours and a minimum GPA of 2.5 who has demonstrated leadership and involvement in campus affairs. The recipient must be an outstanding active member. Strong preference will be given to those residing in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity house.
