Any person who does not live at the residence hall building must check in to be admitted as a visitor.
This policy is required for the effective communication of university policy regarding visitation in the residence halls.
All students of The University of Southern Mississippi community living on campus.
A visitor is defined as any person who does not reside in the building. The maximum time any residence hall may have visitation is within the hours of 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday – Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Freshman halls will not be allowed visitation until the first day of classes. Residents are responsible for the actions of their guests and must be considerate of other residents. Residents may only check in two guests at a time. All guests, regardless of gender, must be registered at the front desk and be escorted by the resident at all times. Guests must be 16 years of age or older, unless escorted by a parent or guardian. Residents must escort their guests the entire time they are checked in.
The Director of Student Housing Administration is responsible for the review of this policy every four years (or whenever circumstances require immediate review).
