Family and special interest housing semester rent is due at the beginning of the semester.
This policy is required for the effective communication of university policy regarding the payment of rent for family and special interest housing.
All students of The University of Southern Mississippi community living in family and special interest housing.
The semester rent is payable in advance at registration and covers the period of time from the official check-in date to the official checkout date as determined by the assistant director for Family and Special Interest Housing. The rental rate includes all utilities, local telephone service and basic cable. If a resident was a full-time student during the spring semester and can show proof of registration for the fall semester, the resident can stay at Pine Haven or Cedarbrook II during the summer semester without being enrolled for that summer. If the resident is not registered at the beginning of the semester, summer rent and their outstanding university balance must be paid in full by the end of the summer semester. If a resident decides to terminate his rental agreement during the first 20 working days of any semester, the resident may do so by paying one-half of the rent due for the entire semester.
The Director of Student Housing Administration is responsible for the review of this policy every four years (or whenever circumstances require immediate review).
