Guests on campus may use the USM Public network at no charge. As the name implies, USM Public is a network for the public to use to connect to the internet while at the university campus, but do not have University accounts.
The University of Southern Mississippi recommends using a virtual private network (VPN) whenever you use public Wi-Fi to access the internet. A VPN creates a private, encrypted tunnel for your online activity making it more difficult for anyone to watch or monitor what you are doing online. Please share this tip with your guests.
University employees and students should log in to the eduroam network with their full University of Southern Mississippi w+IDfirstname.lastname@example.org and CampusID password.
