Lisa Hitt

Lisa Hitt has worked for the Gannett Corporation for more than 25 years.  At the time of her induction into the MCJ Hall of Fame in 2007, she held the position of copy editor for USA Today’s Money section where she also helped oversee production of special sections on travel and the international Money section.  During her career she has held a variety of editing and supervisory roles at The Clarion-Ledger, Hattiesburg American, Meridian Star and Vicksburg Evening Post, and her vast experience includes writing and editing stories, designing pages, supervising page makeup, writing headlines, and editing graphics.  Ms. Hitt has also overseen the development of numerous special projects and sections.  Her work has earned awards from the National Federation of Press Women and the Mississippi Federation of Press Women.  Ms. Hitt earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Miss and was executive editor of The Student Printz during her undergraduate career.
