Marianne Todd

Marianne Todd, an award-winning freelancer specializing in documentary photography, began her career on staff with The Pensacola News Journal and later worked for her hometown paper, the Meridian Star.  At the time of her induction into the MCJ Hall of Fame in 2007, she was the official photographer for Mississippi Gov. and Mrs. Haley Barbour and the house photographer for Meridian’s historic Riley Performing Arts Center.  Her work is represented by Getty Images and she also holds contracts with National Geographic, Time, and People Magazines and the National Basketball Association.  Ms. Todd’s exhaustive coverage of the historic civil rights trial of Edgar ray Killen in Philadelphia, Ms., was published in numerous magazines, journals, and newspapers nationally and worldwide.  She reached an even larger global audience with her coverage of Hurricane Katrina.  Her personal project, the full color traveling Mississippi blues exhibit titled, “The Color of Blues,” opened in MS for the Smithsonian’s American Music Roots Series “New Harmonies” and was shown in art museums, galleries and other venues.  She graduated from Southern Miss in 1990.
