Amy Rosonet

Amy Rosonet, director of the Speech Pathology Clinic at The University of Southern Mississippi, has been voted president-elect of the Mississippi Speech Language Hearing Association (MSHA). Rosonet will serve as president of MSHA in 2018.

MSHA serves more than 300 speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Mississippi by providing continual development opportunities, promoting high qualification standards and ethical practices, and advocating for speech and hearing services in the state. Rosonet has served MSHA in a number of roles including vice president, honors chair, conference co-chair and conference chair.

“Ms. Amy Rosonet's recent election as president of MSHA is well deserved,” said Dr. Edward Goshorn, chair of the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. “Amy is recognized around the state and region as an accomplished speech-language pathologist. Her election is not surprising to us here in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences because we see her excellent work ethic and innovative ideas every day.”

Rosonet will be president-elect in 2017 and past president in 2019. “The president-elect year serves as a time of close contact with the current president to learn policies, procedures, responsibilities and assist with the annual continuing education conference planning,” said Rosonet.

A nationally certified speech-language pathologist, Rosonet was appointed director of the Speech Pathology Clinic in January. The clinic, a service of the College of Health's Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, offers treatment to children through adult. As director, Rosonet manages clinic activities, creates the clinic schedule and matches students with clients receiving treatment.

Rosonet has worked at Southern Miss for eight years, previously serving as a clinical instructor and graduate student supervisor. In addition to her current role as director, Rosonet advises graduate students and continues to teach.
