The Inspired Leaders series at The University of Southern Mississippi's College of Business continues on Thursday, Nov. 10 with a presentation by Steve Cannon, CEO of AMB Group, LLC. Cannon will address students at 1 p.m. in Scianna Hall's McDonnell Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.

In his duties with AMB Group, Cannon oversees the company's for-profit businesses: the NFL's Atlanta Falcons; Atlanta United of Major League Soccer; Atlanta Falcons Stadium Company; PGA TOUR Superstore; and the Mountain Sky Guest Ranch. Prior to joining AMB Group, Cannon served as president and chief executive officer of Mercedes-Benz USA and led operations that generated record sales with annual revenues exceeding $20 billion.

“We are excited to introduce Mr. Cannon to the Pine Belt and to our students at USM,” said Dr. Faye Gilbert, dean of the College of Business. “Students in our MBA program with an emphasis in sport security are particularly interested in talking to him about opportunities at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and with the Atlanta Falcons. Our Inspired Leaders series includes a focus on how these national leaders inspire their organizations and how they themselves maintain inspiration for their own lives.”

The event is free and open to the general public. Sponsors include William C. Walter, PLLC, and Roman Galey with SouthGroup Insurance Services. The Inspired Leaders series honors the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund that works to provide funds to pay for the college education of children of soldiers who are lost.
