Yadrick Named Associate Dean of USM College of Health

Dr. Kathy Yadrick, professor of nutrition and food systems and part-time associate dean for research, has accepted full-time duties as associate dean of the College of Health at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Yadrick has held many positions within the College of Health, including chair of the Department of Nutrition and Food Systems and associate dean for research.

“Dr. Yadrick is highly regarded across campus and known for her impeccable character and servant leadership,” said Dr. Trent Gould, dean of the College of Health at Southern Miss. “Having served as a departmental chair for over 10 years, Dr. Yadrick brings a wealth of administrative experience into the College of Health Dean's Office.”

In addition to teaching and administrative duties, Yadrick has also been a principal investigator and research coordinator on projects for her home department, for collaborative projects within the College and with other institutions around Mississippi. With a focus on community-engaged nutrition and health intervention research, Yadrick currently serves as USM's principal investigator for the Mississippi Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CCTR), a partnership funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences among Southern Miss, the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Tougaloo College.

Yadrick is a University Distinguished Professor, an IHL HEADWAE award winner and the recipient of numerous university and external accolades for teaching, research and service.
