MATL Program to Mark 25th Anniversary at Oct. 12 Reception

A celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Master of Arts in the Teaching of Languages program (MATL) at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will be held Friday, Oct. 12 from 6-9 p.m. at the Thad Cochran Center, ballrooms 1 and 2, on the Hattiesburg campus.

MATL alumni, current and prospective students, faculty and staff in the MATL program and School of Social Science and Global Studies (SSGS), as well as attendees of the Mississippi Foreign Language Assocation Convention behing held at USM that weekend, are invited to attend this event, which will include music and refreshments. 

The focus of the MATL program is on developing and enhancing the knowledge, skills, and theories in language, language acquisition, and language instruction essential for both effective teaching and successful learning. Emphasis areas include French, Spanish and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
