University of Southern Mississippi senior accounting student, Paige Dillistone, has been accepted into The Global Internship Program through her internship with KPMG, one of the Big Four Accounting Firms, in Jackson, Miss. During this internship, she will be completing a four-week rotation in Sydney, Australia.

“I am beyond thrilled with the opportunity to work with this firm at a local and global level, and I can only imagine all of the experience and knowledge I am going to gain from this position,” said Dillistone.

"Our accounting program prepares students for the world. My congratulations to Miss Dillistone and the accounting faculty for nurturing these opportunities,” said Dr. Faye Gilbert, Dean of USM's College of Business and Economic Development. “In the last few years, accounting students have completed internships through Deloitte in London, KPMG in Africa and now KPMG in Australia.”

Upon graduation, Dillistone plans to pursue her Master of Professional Accountancy degree. During her graduate studies, she will also be working to achieve a Certified Public Accountant designation.

“I am thrilled with this opportunity to work with KPMG as an undergraduate and truly get a sense of the kind of work I will be doing in the future,” she said. “The College of Business and Economic Development has been a key player in my success, as the professors and faculty have continuously encouraged me and prepared me for these opportunities. I couldn't be more grateful.”
